Eagles sign QB Dennis Dixon to 2-year deal

PHILADELPHIA (AP) The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed on a two-year contract with quarterback Dennis Dixon, who spent the past season with the Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens on their practice squad.

The move, announced Thursday, comes three days after the Eagles restructured Michael Vick's contract, bringing him back to compete with Nick Foles for the starting job.

The 28-year-old Dixon had a standout career at Oregon when Chip Kelly was Ducks offensive coordinator. Kelly replaced Andy Reid as Eagles coach after leading Oregon to a 46-7 mark the past four years.

A fifth-round pick by Pittsburgh in 2008, Dixon has started three NFL games in five seasons. He has 402 yards passing and one touchdown on 35 for 49 passing. He's also rushed for 56 yards and one score.
